Hi Erin:Our family has loved D-Land and Paris Disney. We have an opportunity to go to WDW in Dec.with our three adult kids and spouses for 3 days after a cruise. Can you help me prioritize attractions to see the most in such a limited time? Thanks

    Hi Tracy,

You're making the world tour of Disney parks, yay!

When I've visited the Disney parks around the world, I've had two goals in mind. First, to see some familiar attractions that have common elements with the other parks. I like to see how the various parks have tweaked things. Second, I like to experience some of the totally unique park elements to see what makes that location special on its own.

For the first goal, I'll point you to the Magic Kingdom. You should ride Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Small World, and the Haunted Mansion. There are counterparts to these at other Disney theme parks and you'll be able to compare/contrast your favorite parts of each. I find the Haunted Mansion to have the most differences among the attractions that appear worldwide.

For the second goal, I'll send you to Epcot and the Animal Kingdom. Much of these parks is unique to the Florida location. At Epcot, you'll want to stroll around the World Showcase, as well as ride on Test Track and Mission Space. At the Animal Kingdom, you MUST ride the Kilimanjaro Safari and Expedition Everest. These are totally unique to Florida as well.

I'd also have you spend some time taking a monorail ride around the Magic Kingdom resorts, perhaps popping into the Grand Floridian for tea. I think the architecture is comparable with that of the Disneyland Paris hotel. Also, you may want to take a stroll in the evening along the Boardwalk. I think this shows that the Disney themeing ability is particularly strong at WDW even outside the parks.

Good luck with your planning. Feel free to come back and ask as many questions as you like.
