Erin, I just read that a base ticket is only good for one day. What happens if we were at the MK and we had reservations to eat at Epcot on the same day we would not be able to do both.A park hopper would be needed?

A base ticket is only good for one park per day. If you want to enter two parks in a day, even if it's just for a meal, then you would need to add the Park Hopper option to your ticket. If you're trying to economize, then perhaps you might want to make a meal reservation at the Magic Kingdom instead of Epcot. Another alternative would be to dine at one of the resorts where no admission ticket is required.
