Erin-I just called Disney to inquire about an annual pass for me (to take advantage of discounts) and keep my family on Park Hoppers. The CM said we all have to be on the same pkg. Is this what you did?All annual pases would be pricey. Thanks a bunch.

Yikes. Sorry if I threw an unexpected wrench into your plans.

I am the only member of my family that has an annual pass. I initially got one because for the past two years I have been at WDW slightly more than they have (lucky me). We are Disney Vacation Club members, so I don't book hotel packages with regular Disney reservations. We stay at the Villas on points. The added bonus for our family has been that with the one annual pass, we have all been able to take advantage of my discounts on tours, in stores, and dining. (I just have to be the one that does the paying.)

If you have your heart set on an annual pass, you might try to price out the elements of your trip separately to see if it makes any difference. Also, and I'm just brainstorming here, I wonder what would happen if you just purchased a regular Park Hopper with your family and then upgraded just your ticket to an annual pass when you got to WDW. If you decide to get the package Park Hoppers, it might be worthwhile to stop at a park guest relations office to see if this would work. In my experience, the cast members are often able to work with you a bit better in person than they are on the phone.
