Hi Erin! We're going to WDW in 45 days & my ? is: We are planning another trip for April 2009 & I read somewhere that Disney offers "bounce back" rates. I'm wondering if we should make our April rez when we're there to get a better deal?

    Hi Jackie,

Sorry for the delayed response. There was a big power outage in my neighborhood this afternoon, but we're back in business now.

Yes, almost every time I have stayed at a WDW resort in recent years, there has been a printed "bounce back" offer left in my hotel room. Recently these have been round, in the shape of a clock, about the size of a small dinner plate.

I stayed at the Boardwalk resort about two weeks ago. I took the bounce back offer home with me to help with questions like yours. Here's what the offer says, "Pick a date before it's too late. Save up to 40% on your next Disney resort stay if you book before you check out.  Just book your reservation and make a deposit (one night's room rate plus tax) on or prior to your checkout date."

Then there is a whole bunch of fine print and a listing of specific dates for which the offer is valid. These dates are all in the value season. The bounce back offers can be a great way to save money on a future trip. However, I think it's unlikely that you would find an offer that would give you a discount for travel in April. If you're not in any particular rush to book your trip, then it might be worth waiting to see what offers are available just in case the offers change. Or, you might think about whether you can be flexible with your 2009 travel dates.

    Good luck!
