Jiko is a perfect date night spot: upscale atmosphere without a hint of stuffiness, superb food, fabulous wine list, great service, a winner on all counts. Any of Disney's signature restaurants in the resorts would be great for quality couple time. Jiko is wonderful, but my personal favorite signature dining spot is
Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge. My last meal request would be the artisan cheese plate, cedar plank salmon, and apple tart, accompanied by a chilled glass of Washington State Riesling. In addition to the tremendous food, I find the room to be warmly inviting. I even admire the decor details. I once actually made my husband go with me into the ladies room (no other guests were present) so I could show him the tiles in the bathroom because I loved them so much.
Another fabulous date night spot would be California Grill in the Contemporary. If you can time it right, you can watch the fireworks while cuddling with your Prince Charming on the restaurant's balcony. And of course the ultimate date night experience would be Victoria & Alberts at the Grand Floridian. I have not yet had the pleasure of dining here, but from everything I've heard, this is really the meal of a lifetime.
To decide which is the best choice for you, I would go to the website allearsnet.com and search for the menus of each of the restaurants you're interested in. You will be able to get a fuller picture of the offerings here. Another thing to consider is where you'll be staying and your child care situation. For example, the first date night hubby and I had at Artist Point was on a trip where we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge and the kiddos were safely tucked away at the Cubs Den childcare center in a different part of the same hotel. This made things extremely convenient.
