Hi Erin! If you were stayng at POP, not preferred rooms, which buildngs/room numbers would you request for a family of 5 (3ad,2kids,2rooms)? Why? Where could I find detailed resort maps that shows room numbers?

Pop Century is one of the very few WDW resorts that I have never stayed at, so I'm answering here from research rather than experience.

The Food Court is located in Classic Hall and the bus stop is just outside Classic Hall, so that's the area you want to be in. Looking at the map, I think you can eliminate everything in the '80s and '90s sections of the hotel as they are not adjacent to Classic Hall. The '60s buildings have some rooms with nice views of the lake AND they are convenient to the services you need. According to the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, "The best rooms are the lake-view rooms in buildings 4 and 5, representing the 1960s." After that, the Unofficial Guide suggests the east (food court) facing rooms in those same buildings. After that, they like building 3 in the 1950s section and building 6 in the 1970s section.

For specifics on how to get a room in the building you want, you should follow the steps that Moms Panelist Bret describes HERE.

As for finding maps of the Pop Century, there are many of these on the web. For example, if you go to the independent website themouseforless.com and search there for an article called "Pop Century Resort", you'll see a link at the top of the page that says "Resort Map." Click there to see the overall layout. As for the room numbers, I did find one source for this:

    - I googled "pop century map room numbers"
    - Click on the "images" button to limit the search to pictures
    - The first hit is a detailed room number plan from a site called disneyworldlinks.com

I hope that helps you plan a wonderful trip to WDW!
