    Hi Erin, We are staying at Cont in late Dec.Time wise, should we use taxi service going to or coming from AK&DHS? How many stops are made? Do u have an estimate of cab fare? I know this is a busy time and we were looking for a little bit of a time save

    Hi Jennifer,

    Disney tinkers with the bus routes all the time. Often buses going from the Contemporary to the Animal Kingdom or DHS make an intermediate stop to collect guests at the Wilderness Lodge or Polynesian. During the busy winter holidays, it's possible that enough buses will be added to the system that you could go directly from the Contemporary to the AK or DHS. There's not really any way to predict in advance whether this will happen. Your best bet would be to speak to the Bell Service desk or even a bus driver or two upon your arrival.

    Taxis are readily available at the Contemporary. If there isn't one waiting when you get to the front of the hotel, the Bell Services desk would be happy to call one for you. If you take a cab, you'll go directly from the hotel to the park with no stops in between. You also won't be waiting for other guests to board, and you'll definitely have a seat. Those are all huge pluses. My personal experience is that, on average, you'll save 15-20 minutes by taking a cab instead of buses on the routes that you've mentioned.

    In general, it's possible to get from one side of Walt Disney World to the other (basically from the Contemporary to the AK) for about $20 in a cab. Shorter distances will obviously be less money.
