Erin, We will be staying @BCV in Sep.Is there any location we should request. We have 2yr & 5yr old boys. Is an upper floor better for quiet while napping during teh day or at night? Thanks for all of the advice you and the panel give!!

Room location is a matter of personal preference. Some people like to be near the elevators for convenience while others like to put some distance between themselves and the foot traffic near the elevators.

My husband often requests that we have a room on a high floor, on the theory that it will be quieter. But on our most recent stay at the Beach Club Villas we were put on the ground floor and did not experience any issues with external noise. In fact, I really enjoyed having the little outdoor patio area to sit at during the evening.

I will also say that I have stayed in the villas at the Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and Saratoga Springs and have never had any sort of noise bother in the bedroom in any of these locations. You can, if people in the hall are being particularly boisterous, hear them in the living room area of the villas. But the bedrooms are set back and insulated enough for this not to be any problem

The only noise factor which could possibly an issue for you at the Beach Club is the fireworks at Epcot. Every evening at 9:00 you will hear about 10 minutes worth of fireworks from the Illuminations show. Our kid have never been woken up by this, but it does keep them distracted if they are actually trying to fall asleep at this time. On the plus side, several times we've been able to see a bit of the fireworks from the balcony of our room. This might be a reason to request a high floor on the Epcot side.

My parents recently had a ground floor room at the Beach Club Villas overlooking the "quiet" pool there. We thought this was going to be a disaster noise-wise, but it was no problem at all and they enjoyed the view.

I don't think I've been much help here except to say that overall it's very much a matter of personal preference. I think if I had to choose, I'd pick ground floor near the elevator (I'm lazy) and if my husband had to choose, he'd pick high floor away from the elevator. But we've had both and they've both been fine. It's really up to you.
