Hi Erin! We have 8:00 reservations for BBB, MK opens at 9. It is also my husbands birthday and we want to get the gift card. Staying at WL. What time do the boats start running to MK? How early should we leave WL to get to BBB by 8? THANKS!!!

I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in January of this year. Just for you I took photos of the signs at the boat dock. The boats start running from the WL to the Magic Kingdom at 6:45 a.m. The boat ride itself takes between 10-15 minutes. but I would build in time stop at Guest Relations to get the gift card (15 minutes), time to walk from the boat to the park and from the entrance to the castle (10 minutes total), as well as 15-20 minutes of possible wait time for transportation (just to be safe). Taking all that into consideration, I would be at the WL dock by about 7:00 a.m.

When you're ready to enter the park, look for a sign that says something to the effect of "early character breakfasts." This is the place you'll go in. A cast member will check your reservation and let you into the park. If you happen to have extra time, this is a wonderful opportunity to get some family photos. Early morning is one of the rare times when you may have a chance to get a picture of your family in front of the castle without scores of other guests in the background.

Happy birthday to your hubby. I hope you all have a wonderful visit to WDW!
