Hi Erin. I read that you stayed in the Grandstand section of SSR and found it peaceful. But in another answer Laura said you overlooked other hotels. Was this the same visit? We're visiting in Aug & are hoping for a quiet location. Can you hear or see

Laura and I stayed at Saratoga Springs during the same trip in February 2008. That's the only time I've ever stayed there. I was in building 9 and I believe she was in building 8 in the Grandstand area. My particular room looked out onto the golf course, which was lovely and relaxing. From my particular room, I couldn't see anything but the golf course and a road far beyond it. And I couldn't hear anything outdoors at all. I was fairly far away from the SSR entrance area and pools so I didn't get any stray noise from these activity areas.

Laura is right when she says that you can see other hotels from Saratoga Springs. Certainly from almost all the parking lot areas and I'm sure from some rooms, you can see the tops of several non-Disney hotels in the distance, just past Downtown Disney. These hotels are fairly far away and don't contribute any noise to Saratoga. The room I stayed in was well appointed and very comfortable. And while I didn't have a chance to take advantage of the spa at SSR, I did have a chance to peek my head in and chat with the cast member attendants for a moment. It looked like an AMAZING place to unwind.

I will say that one of my very few complaints about SSR was those hotels in the distance. One of the things I love the most on a Disney vacation is that it makes me feel like I've entered another world. When I stay at the Beach Club all I see are Disney structures: the beautiful Boardwalk hotel and Epcot. When I stay at the Wilderness Lodge, all I see are tall trees. But when I'm at SSR and I see a regular old Hilton looming in the background, it breaks the spell for me a little, even if I only see them when I'm walking to the bus stop in the morning. As far as complaints go, that's pretty minor and as I said, my room was extremely quiet and had a very nice spot on the golf course. In fact, when I came home from that trip I told my hubby that we should stay at SSR the next time we go alone so that he could have such easy golf access.

    Hope that helps.
