Hi Erin! I have read that you can create your own pins. Where is this done? What are some things you can do? Thanks! You helped me to create the best, well planned WDW vacation last year. We're headed back this May! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi again Kim!

I got very excited when I first heard about this product, but in my opinion it's not all it's cracked up to be. I just spent about an hour trying to find you good photos -- I just know I saw some on a Disney site, but where? -- but the best I could do was eBay. If you go to eBay and search for Disney Create or Add A Name Pin, you'll come up with several hits. These are basically regular pins with characters, park attractions, etc. Attached to the bottom are one or two blank areas. Sold alongside the Add A Name pins, are small oval inserts that you stick onto the blank area of the pin base.

When I was at WDW last month, the one place that I specifically noticed these pins was at the main gift shop on the 4th floor of the Contemporary, but I'm sure they are also sold at other pin locales such as the large trading stations at Epcot and Downtown Disney. In the display I saw, I was disappointed by the limited number of names available on the inserts. I estimate that there were only about 50 names available -- none of my daughters' names were there. There were also some generic tags such as "Mom," "Dad," "Aunt," etc. On the pins with two blanks, you could also add inserts for celebrations such as "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Anniversary," etc. The idea is cute, but I felt like there just wasn't enough variety to make it really special. I'd probably feel very different if my children's names were available.

Also, I have heard ancedotal information that the adhesive used to stick the inserts to the pins is not super strong. Some folks are reinforcing them with a dab of superglue.

I hope your next visit is as good as your first!
