Hi Erin; planning a trip to WDW for Sept. DH, DD 16, DS 13 and myself. We have stayed at Poly twice and cannot decide between GF and BC Resort. Staying 10 days, 2-3 days at the resort, park hopping and water parks. Any info would be appreciated. TYVM.

    Hi Lynn,

My husband and I have had the BC vs. GF discussion many times. He likes the posh feel of the GF better, but we both agree that the location and pool at the BC make it the winner for families with out-of-stroller kids.

The BC has by far the best pool at WDW. Now that our kids are older (the same ages as yours), we let them head off to the pool on their own for while and the BC gives lots for them to do there - much more than the GF. Especially if you're hanging out at the resort for a few days, the wonderful pool at the BC gives you lots to keep busy with. And if you want some extra relaxation, you're just steps away from the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin.

But the best thing for families with older kids is the super easy access to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the Boardwalk. There's quick access to the more "grown up" foods at Epcot - snacking around the World Showcase is one of our favorite activities. My daughters also love popping into Epcot by themselves to take a spin on Test Track or just to grab a School Bread in Norway.

And the Boardwalk is a lovely place for a stroll in the evening. There are musicians and magicians to keep you entertained without the need to venture into a park. It's also quicker to get to the water parks from the BC than from the GF.

All that being said, I've stayed at both the GF and the BC many times. They both provide great experiences, you really can't go wrong with either one.
