Hi Erin! Planning for round 2 @ WDW = ) Purchased the basic dining plan. Wondering if we can use a table svce credit at counter svce. Afraid we may get "caught up in the magic" and not feel like taking time out for a sit down meal every night

The letter of the law is that table service credits are supposed to be used at table service restaurants and counter service credits are supposed to be used at counter service restaurants. However, in practice this is not always the case. The situation you describe occurs with some regularity. It is not at all uncommon for guests to have a few table service credits that they want to use on counter service meals. This happens more to guests on the deluxe dining plan, but also sometimes to those on the basic plan as well.

Since the cost of the counter service meals are normally less than the cost of the table service meals, In most circumstances, you will be allowed to use the table credit for the counter meal. Simply tell the cashier at the counter service restaurant what you'd like to do. They may try to talk you out of it, but if you assure them that you understand what you're doing, 99 times out of 100, you'll be fine.

    Happy dining!
