Erin, I noticed that you answered two questions regarding the timing on making dining reservations. In one, 4/12/09, you said that Disney changed the timing to 90 days out; however in a post in Oct 2009, you said that it is 180 days. Which is correct?

They were both correct at the time they were written :-).

For much of 2009, Disney world was working with a 90-day reservation window for making dining reservations. Beginning in October 2009, this switched back to a 180-day window. (Hard to keep up with, I know.)

As of now, January 2010, guests can make reservations for dining, tours, and recreation up to 180 days in advance. You can do this online via the Disney World website at disneyworld.com or over the phone at 407-WDW-DINE. Reservations for the next day of the window begin at 6:00 a.m. EST online and at 7:00 a.m. EST over the phone, 365 days a year.

Things are constantly changing at Disney, and there's no guarantee that the dining reservation window won't be different again at some point in the future. If your trip is scheduled for a date far in the future it makes sense to check back periodically. A great way to keep abreast of developments at Disney is to subscribe to an online service with a weekly or monthly newsletter. Some great ones are at allears.net and passporter.com.

    Good luck with your planning.
