Hi Erin, nice to see you back answering our ?'s! Re: the photopass, we arrive in May, is it too early to purchase it now to take advantage of $50 discount? Is it worth the $100. Thers are 3 family's going together, how can we all make use of 1 photo CD?

    Hi Roxanne,

Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm thrilled to be back to active status on the Moms Panel!

You are welcome to pre-purchase your Disney PhotoPass CD now. The $50 pre-purchase discount has been in effect for quite some time, but there is always the chance that things could change.

I have purchased the PhotoPass CD several times. I have found it to most "worth it" under two circumstances: when I'm traveling with a large group of people and when I purchase the CD in advance. Both of these would apply to you.

Disney PhotoPass photographers are stationed throughout the parks. It's free to have your photo taken, but if you want to download photo files or purchase prints, you'll have to pay. Prices vary a bit depending on what package you select, but generally each photo purchased costs between $12 -14 each. As you can see, this adds up quickly. If you're going to want downloads/prints of more than about 10 pictures, then the investment in the CD makes lots of sense.

When traveling with multi-pronged party (like 3 families), you can each use one (or more) PhotoPass cards when you're in the parks. But to get all your pictures onto one CD, you'll need to assign one person to be in charge. That person will set up the PhotoPass account and input ALL the PhotoPass code numbers (on the backs of the cards) into that one account. You can have many hundreds of pictures on one CD - go wild! Since you know you'll be getting the CD make it a point to pose for as many pictures as possible. Get as much use out of it as you can.

To give the CD to multiple families, you can either order extra copies of the CD (about $20 each) or simply burn a copy yourself on your own computer.

I find it very helpful to take a phone photo of each PhotoPass card I get. That way, if I lose the card, I still have the code number.

Good luck with your planning. Please let me know if I can provide more help.
