Hi Erin! Will miss your great advice. Have trip planned for DD & myself. Just received a 'free dining' pin. I was told that I can NOT take advantage of that promotion because it was addresed to my DH & he is not going. Have you encountered this?

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am starting to get a bit misty about my time of the Moms Panel winding down.

This is the first time I've heard a free dining pin story like yours, but it doesn't surprise me. I actually ran into a similar situation last week. I had referred an acquaintance to my Disney Vacation Club rep. The acquaintance ended up purchasing DVC membership, which entitled me to a referral bonus. So far so good. I got the note about the bonus sent to my email address. I forwarded it to my husband, who usually takes care of the DVC paperwork in our house. He tried to redeem the bonus and was unable to do so. He ended up calling DVC member services and was told that the rewards are person-specific and not household-specific. This means that he was not authorized to collect the reward, only I was.

So, apparently Disney is doing some marketing/promotion to specific individuals as well.

I do have a work around for you. I would simply make the reservation for Disney in your husband's name. When you get to the hotel, tell them that there was a mix-up and you are going to be in the room rather than your husband. They will print Key to the World Cards with your name on them and put your name on the hotel register. This has happened to me twice over the years. My husband has made a reservation for me for trips to WDW that he was not going on (nice guy).  When i arrived at WDW, the computer showed him as the guest, not me. I just explained that he made the reservation, but was not tagging along. The cast members at the front desk could not have been nicer in changing the name on the reservation.

    Good luck!
