Erin, I know you love the Beach Club...how does it compare to the Yacht Club? I have noticed in doing some pricing, that the Yacht Club is just a bit less expensive. Also, have you stayed at GF? Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

The Yacht Club is a wonderful hotel. It is extremely similar to the Beach Club; they share the same pool complex and some of the restaurants, and have nearly identical amenities. I'd be happy to stay at the Yacht Club any time. However, there are two reasons we stay at the Beach Club much more often:

    - Proximity to Epcot. This is really the biggest factor for me. My family LOVES Epcot. We we stay in the Epcot area, I often pop in and out of the Epcot park several times a day. We also plan to have a large percentage of our meals there, particularly dinners. The Beach Club is a three to four minute shorter walk to Epcot than the Yacht Club is. Over the course of week long vacation, I can easily save an hour of walking by staying at the Beach over the Yacht. I'm lazy, I know.
    - The gift shop. Because the Beach Club has attached villas, the gift shop is stocked like a mini convenience store. With more prepared food options and a greater selection of beverages. Of course if you're staying at the Yacht Club, you can take the three minute walk and shop at the Beach Club. Did I mention that I'm lazy?

If you find a good rate at the Yacht Club, then by all means, grab it.

I have also stayed at the Grand Floridian several times. It's a fabulous place too. The monorail access to the MK is great, particularly if you have stroller age kids. My older children prefer the Yacht/Beach pool and the ability to walk to Epcot, but I'd be happy to stay at the GF any time.

Please let me know if you need more information.
