I have stayed many of the deluxe resorts, including the BW, AKL, Contemporary, WL, and GF. I have not stayed at the Polynesian, but have visited there many times. Each of these resorts has many fabulous qualities, but the place my family always wants to go back to is the Beach Club. Here's why:
- Location. In the Epcot resorts area (which, as you know, also includes the BW and the Yacht Club), you have easy access to two of Disney's four theme parks, rather than just the one easy access park that you have with the Poly (or GF or Contemporary). I find that we spend less time traveling around WDW and more time having fun when we stay in the Epcot area.
- Food. This is an offshoot of location, but it bears mentioning on it's own. My girls love the International food choices at Epcot. We often end up having dinner there and find the evening walk back to the Epcot hotels to be incredibly convenient.
So, far that puts the Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Clubs all on equal footing. The Yacht Club is a great place, but I'm eliminating it because I'm lazy and want that evening walk back from dinner to be as short as possible.
That leaves the BW and the BC. The deciding factor in this choice is THE POOL. The pool at the Boardwalk is lovely (as is the Poly pool), but the pool at the Beach Club is incredibly, amazingly, indescribably wonderful. You can read my odes to the BC pool

So that's our rationale. For my family, the Beach Club has the best location and the best pool. We still stay other places sometimes, but that's where we always return.
