Erin I'm so glad you are still here! Oct '08 was so great going back march '09 staying at WLV. Do you think the water parks are good for a 5yr old? Which one is more age appropriate in your opinion? Still addicted to the panel. Thanks so much!

Thanks for your kind words! Kim is now the Disney Cruise Line mom and will be here all year. Bri and I are regular Panelists until April. And six more of the 2008 Moms will cycle through later in the year. We're so happy to have a continued role on the Moms Panel!

March usually has good weather for water fun at WDW. I started bringing my girls to the water parks when my twins were about three. I think five is a wonderful age for both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. However, if I had to choose, I think Blizzard Beach is the best choice for this age. Depending on your child's height, your child may be able to experience attractions in all three areas of the park: Tikes Peak (the little kid area), Ski Patrol (the intermediate area), and the main park.

I would start at Tikes Peak, where there are shallow pools, play fountains, and mini slides. When this area is mastered, you can move on the Ski Patrol -- an awesome play zone for elementary age kids. There are slightly larger slides here, as well as two of my twins' favorite attractions: a zip line where kids fly through the air and then splash drop into a pool, and the "iceberg" challenge, where kids attempt to cross a pool by stepping onto floating foam icebergs.

One of the greatest parts of the water parks is that there is so much the entire family can do together. The wave pools and the lazy rivers are classic water fun you can all share at the same time. And my entire family's #1 all-time favorite attraction in the entirety of WDW is Teamboat Springs, the family raft ride at Blizzard Beach. I love how we all face each other on the ride so that we see everyone's expressions as they are thrilled and chilled together.

    Have a great time!
