Hi Gerald. You SO completely made my day with your comment!
I stayed at Disney's Saratoga Springs resort this exact week a year ago. The stairway leading to my room had a great view of the Disney treehouses. They were fascinating and beautiful, all nestled in the woods. I was mostly unfamiliar with their history so I had a nice long talk with a groundskeeper there about the treehouses. He told me that they were in some disrepair and were being used as temporary college student housing. So sad. Imagine my delight when I learned a few months later that the treehouse were going to be completely renovated to become brilliant Disney Vacation Club villas!
There is not currently much information on this on the main WDW website. However, there are other sources of information. Go to the independent website allearsnet.com and search for an article called "Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs." You'll find background and photos here. Another independent site, dvcnews.com, has more photos. To find them, go to that site and search on the word "treehouse." DVC News and All Ears should both have all the info about the treehouses when it becomes available to the public.
I'm sorry but I don't have any inside scoop when more will be available on the main WDW site. For the best information on booking the treehouses, you should contact the Disney Vacation Club directly. Click
HERE to do that. Even if you are not a DVC member, they should be able to give you more information about when the treehouses will be available for booking.
I hope you have great trip. Let me know if you need anything else :-)
