Hi, Erin. My DH asked for one thing only out of WDW: good Italian food. What do you suggest for the best Italian restaurant? My DS 9 and DD 6 will also be with us on our trip June 1-8, 2009. Thanks for all of the great info. about our upcoming trip.

There are several Italian choices at WDW:

    - Tony's Town Square in the Magic Kingdom. Great location. In my opinion, only average food.

    - Mama Melrose's in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Old-style atmosphere. Good, but not outstanding food.

    - Tutto Italia in the Italy pavilion at Epcot. Recently renovated and renamed. This new incarnation of the restaurant is a HUGE step up from the not-so-good Alfredos. I recently had a delightful meal at Tutto Italia. Nice wine list too.

    - Il Mulino New York Trattoria in the Swan hotel. I have not eaten here, but the Birnbaum Official Guide to WDW lists this as the "best Italian fare" at WDW. The Unofficial Guide to WDW gives this three starts out of five.

    - Portobello in Downtown Disney. Currently undergoing a bit of a makeover due to the closure of Pleasure Island and subsequent rethemeing of some of Downtown Disney. Yummy, but pricey.

If I had to choose, I'd go for Tutto Italia. The food is good and the atmosphere is pure Italy.

    Ciao!
