Hi Erin! DH and I have an ADR at WCC at 6:30, then we want to go on a carriage ride at FW. We'll be driving to WL, do you think we should drive to FW or take the boat? Thanks! Missed you while you had your break from the panel!

    Hi Trisha -

Thank you so much for the kind words. You really truly made my day. The cast members at WDW have some of the Moms Panelists rotating off and on the panel. I'm actually due to go off again on April 1. I hope to be back for another turn in the future.

    To your question --

If you're at the Wilderness Lodge and then want to take a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness, I would definitely choose to take the boat. Here's why:

    - The FW carriage rides depart from Pioneer Hall (also the site of the Hoop Dee Doo Revue). Pioneer Hall is just steps away from the FW boat dock. Total travel time is a seven minute boat ride and a two minute walk. Maybe add in a few minutes to wait for the boat to arrive.

    - The FW parking lot is at the complete opposite end of the campgrounds. Once you park, you would have to board an internal Fort Wilderness bus to get to Pioneer Hall. Total travel time = getting your car at the WL, plus driving to FW and parking there, plus walking to the FW bus stop from the parking lot, plus waiting for the bus, plus taking the bus to Pioneer Hall. This is probably 30 - 45 minutes.

As you can see, the boat is the much faster option.

Good luck with your planning and enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World!
