We're so glad you visited the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Gail! You've asked an excellent question!
Many people don't even realize that
Epcot has two entrances. The most common entrance is located at the front of the Park by the iconic
Spaceship Earth. However, there is a second entrance situated between the United Kingdom and France pavilions, and it is very convenient for those staying at the Epcot Area Resorts. Recently, this International Gateway entryway was refurbished to make way for a Skyliner Station, which is Walt Disney World's brand new mode of transportation. Luckily, both Park entrances open at the same time as Epcot, which is likely to be 9:00 AM during your vacation. Check the
Park Hours calendar as you get closer to your trip for official hours.
Similar to the former Disney Skyway buckets in Magic Kingdom Park, (which bring back sentimental childhood memories), the
Disney Skyliner is a fantastic aerial alternative to the Disney bus system. I love having a bird's eye view of the Parks and Resorts (it's also fun to take a peek at the construction going on in Epcot). For me, it's a game changer, and it's always fun to see which type of gondola you get! Typically, the Skyliner operates 30-60 minutes before Park opening, however, I recommend checking with your Walt Disney World Resort hotel front desk for exact operating hours during your stay.
I hope you have a magical vacation, Gail!
