Janna,
Then you have found the right place for help!
For planning, here are the steps you should take now;
- Decide on what park you plan on visiting for each day of your trip. Consider that you are coming at a busy time of the year, so skipping parks with Extra Magic Hours might help you better avoid the larger crowds.
- After you know where you are going on what days, plan your table service meals, if you are having any. If you are, plan them based on where you will be, to avoid unnecessary transportation time. Then make your Advanced Dining Reservations as soon as possible!
- Plan out how you will manage your budget while you are there. Know that with a large family there will be lots of costly distractions that, if unchecked, could throw your financial planning out the window.
Janna, I, and the other Moms, would be glad to help you with these steps. I would suggest you approach each of these as separate questions. Provide some information for each (like park interests, dining interests, etc.) and then let us give you some seasoned guidance?
To give you a quick start, let's consider parks. I would recommend you plan on at least two days at the Magic Kingdom, and one each at the other parks, assuming you have 5 park days. Also plan into EACH day some down time back at the resort for naps and pool time.
I hope you will write back!
Have a magical vacation!
