Hi there, Julie! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with such a great question!
Since you plan to maximize your magic by purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and already know that you can make three selections per day in advance, your planning is off to a practically perfect start. I absolutely love that we can make three selections in advance! Don't you?! It's so fun to go into your Disney day knowing that you will enjoy at least three of your favorite attractions with less time in line and more time in the magic. Now, let's get to it!
I think you will be happy to hear that if you have the typical date-based tickets, once your Lightning Lane selection window opens, you'll be able to make three selections per ticket day all at one time, at 7:00 a.m. EST. While you can make one day's Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass selections in one purchase transaction, each day will require a separate transaction. But Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries." I think you will find that it is really easy to make your selections and purchase your Lightning Lane Passes on the My Disney Experience app. The app guides you through the process and even instructs you to choose the eligible Guests, the date and the park and even guides you to make one selection from the top group and the other two selections from the other group. When you're happy with your first day's selections and complete that transaction, just tap "Plan Another Day" to make more selections. The whole process is as easy as a wave of Fairy Godmother's wand. Bibbidi ... bobbidi ... boo!
To make the Lightning Lane selection process even faster, I recommend storing a credit or debit card in your My Disney Experience app in advance. Just log into your app, tap the three-line menu icon at the bottom of the screen, scroll down, tap "Profile" and then "Payment Method." Add your preferred payment method to make fast app-based purchases, including Lightning Lane Passes,
Mobile Food and Beverage Orders and
Merchandise Mobile Checkout.
If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you will be able to purchase your Pass and make your
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass selections seven days before your check-in date for your entire four-day ticket. If you are not staying on property, you will be able to make all your advance selections for all four date-based tickets three days before the start date of your ticket. If you have an Annual Pass or a special ticket type, you can make your selections three days before your park visit. Then, once you're having a blast in the parks and tap into your first Lightning Lane, you can make another selection and keep making more, based on availability, as you go. I can't wait to see all the magic you unlock!
One more tip, Julie! I like to increase my chances of snagging a Lightning Lane for my very favorite attractions by planning to visit that park at the end of my trip and making that day's selections first. For example, on one trip, using a Lightning Lane to ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure was at the top of my must-do list, so I planned to visit Magic Kingdom on my last park day and made those selections first to increase the odds that there would be more availability. Happy planning!
I hope this helps, Julie, and I hope you have the most magical time (with less time in line!) with your Lightning Lane Passes. If you have any other questions about Lightning Lanes or maximizing your magic in any way, be sure to
stop by and ask me! You've got a friend in me.
See ya real soon,
Mandy
