Hello, Marie-Helene! Welcome to planDisney! You've asked a tee-rrific question!
I've been vacationing with my family of five for many years at Walt Disney World Resort. We used to stay the entire day at the parks, but now that my kids are older, they enjoy spending some time on the beautiful golf courses with my husband. There are a couple of ways you can do this, too!
If you are a casual golfer, you might enjoy
Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, which is a charming 9-hole walking course. In this case, you can add the Water Park and Sports option to your
theme park tickets. It allows you to visit one theme park per day, plus enjoy a certain number of visits to a water park or other Walt Disney World fun, including a round at Oak Trail. A 1-day ticket allows one visit, a 3-day ticket allows three visits, and so on.
If you are a more serious golfer, I suggest combining the magic of a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort with world-class golf at Disney's
Magnolia, Disney's
Palm, or Disney's
Lake Buena Vista Golf Courses. All three of these courses have hosted PGA TOUR events. My teenage kids like the Magnolia Course the best because of its Mickey Mouse-inspired bunker, but my husband prefers the challenge presented by the Palm Course- the 18th hole was ranked one of the hardest by PGA golfers! I suggest calling 407-WDW-GOLF (939-4653) to inquire about the Golf Getaway Packages for pricing and more information. Often, they will include a couple of rounds of golf with a 2-Night/3-day Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Also, instead of dragging your clubs on the plane, you can
rent them right at the course. My husband recently rented a brand new set of TaylorMade clubs that he was very pleased about!
I hope you enjoy your trip to "The Happiest Place on Turf," Marie-Helene!
