Welcome aboard, Faith! I love to hear from other Ohio families like ours that are getting ready to sail with Disney Cruise Line!
My son was three years old when we first set sail with Disney, and he couldn't get enough of all of the fun activities and entertainment onboard the ship. He loved when we checked him into the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, the two
Youth Clubs for his age. In these clubs, kids get to march and sing with Mickey and his pals, do crafts with Tinkerbell, sing and attend a coronation with Anna and Elsa, compete with the Avengers, and fly off to other galaxies in the Star Wars areas, depending on the ship.
Each evening, he adored attending the
Broadway-style shows with us. What a great first introduction to live theatre! We sat on the aisle seats just in case he got cranky and we needed to make a quick escape, but to my delight, he sat there mesmerized by his favorite Disney friends dancing and singing on stage, and he sang right along too!
The pool was a blast with him, especially the Mickey Slide! And we loved that we could introduce him to
brand new foods at no extra cost to us. If he didn't like it, no problem, and no loss of money for us. We just ordered something else. But, that's how he acquired a taste for smoked salmon, capers, and yes, even escargot! Wow! I never would have ordered that for him back home at a restaurant. He's developed quite the palate now and is a pretty adventurous eater, especially on the ships!
So, yes, your little sailor will have an amazing and magical experience onboard the ship! Please stop back if we can help with other questions as you continue to plan! We're happy to assist!
