Are there enough activities for my two girls, aged 12 and 4, at the Polynesian that would enable us to skip a day at the parks and hang out at the resort? First time staying at the Polynesian and trying to plan the week. Staying in late August, early Sept.

Hi there Shannon! Thanks for visiting the Disney Park Moms Panel with your great question!  I always plan a non-park day (resort day) in the middle of our Walt DIsney World vacations to sleep in, enjoy our resort, and explore the many recreational activities outside of the theme parks. Having stayed at Disney's Polynesian Resort myself several times in the past, I definitely think you will find ample activities to keep your daughters entertained on your resort day. I would personally recommend enjoying a late breakfast at either  'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast or Kona Café, which are both excellent dining locations right at your fingertips. 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast is a Character DIning Experience featuring Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto and is an all-you-care-to-eat dining location serving family favorites such as scrambled eggs, bacon, and Mickey waffles. Kona Café is another family favorite featuring the highly popular dish Tonga Toast. You will definitely want to spend a few hours at Nanea Volcano Pool or relax in a hammock on the beach. Other popular recreational activities include Moana Mickey’s Arcade, watercraft rentals, roasting marshmallows on the campfire, and watching Movies Under the Stars. My family loves to grab a Dole Whip from Capt. Cook's and then watch the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular from the Polynesian beach at night. You may also consider visiting Downtown Disney, which does not require an entry fee, on your resort day. I definitely think you will enjoy taking a break from the parks and being able to spend several hours at the fantastic Nanea Volcano Pool especially since you will be visiting during the summertime. I hope this information helps in making your decision. Please don't hesitate to write me back with any additional follow up questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Shannon!
    Happy Planning,
