Hey there Jennifer, it's great to see you back at planDisney!
Spending the holidays at Walt Disney World Resort is definitely one of those experiences that folks and families look forward to, which can be seen in just how popular and busy it gets at the end of December. It looks like
you're arriving just at the start of the new year and in my opinion, going in January can really reduce a lot of the crowded holiday hustle and bustle from the week prior! Personally, I've witnessed how dramatically different everything can be in a matter of a few days from standby wait times for attractions, to snagging dining reservations - and even
booking tours and experiences from the Enchanting Extras Collection!
At the current time it does not appear that
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour operates during some of the busiest holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. I recently answered
a similar question from someone who noticed that there wasn't any availability around Christmastime, and as I dove deeper into my research and asked Cast Members about this - it appeared that the tour wasn't just unavailable but also did not appear on the operating schedule for periods like November 27-30, 2024 and December 21, 2024 onwards. This aligns with my experiences around these weeks when the holiday hordes typically descend upon
Magic Kingdom Park, and as of the time of writing there
still isn't anything available to book through the end of December nor does anything show up in the operating schedule for these dates. That said, there could be an unannounced update with dates and bookable slots added and unfortunately at the current time, Cast Members can only encourage guests to keep checking back just in case. In my opinion, this could be a great opportunity to use the services of a travel agent for your getaway with the girls who can keep continually checking on your behalf if you don't have the time to, especially as you're at just about the 60-day mark away from your trip!
According to fellow
planDisney pal and Disney Vacation Club expert Susan, tours last year resumed shortly following Christmas however the Cast Members I spoke to were unable to confirm whether this would be the case again this year, or how early they might resume in January. I'll be keeping an eye on it just in case and hoping that you, your daughter and your mother will all be able to have a chance to experience some of that backstage magic to kick off the New Year!
As you arrive on the first day of January, it might be interesting to head to EPCOT and observe how it recovers from the wild night of thousands and thousands of revelers ringing in 2025; if you're all sticking around long enough you just might be able to witness the theme parks slowly transforming back from holiday-mode. I found that Magic Kingdom Park was among the last to make its overnight transition so be sure to head there sooner during your trip to dwell in those festive vibes for just a little longer!
Wishing you all the happiest of holidays this season!
