Greetings Nick!
Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for swinging by with your excellent Disney World planning question. Your trip is coming up soon... woo hoo! I bet you're getting excited to enjoy all those magical attractions, so let's talk about ride queues and get a strategy in place for your visit.
At times Disney utilizes
virtual queues for new, highly popular attractions. For these experiences, there is no stand by line available. As you describe, these can ONLY be enjoyed with "pre booking", of sorts. Currently, there are two attractions at Walt Disney World using virtual queue access:
You've got two different options to enjoy these rides... and Nick, let me tell you. You don't want to miss either of them! At least promise me you won't miss Guardian's, my absolute favorite attraction. It's an out-of-this-world, thrilling adventure unlike any other!
Option 1: Join the virtual queue at 7:00 am on the morning of your park visit, using the
My Disney Experience app. This option is FREE, and you do not need to be physically in the park (you'll just need valid admission tickets). Log on a few minutes early, because the queue fills quickly. Later in the day, your app will notify you when your queue is called. At that time, you can join the stand by line for the attraction.
Option 2: Purchase a
Lightning Lane pass, which is awesome because it will pre-book a seat for you and allow you to skip the stand by line altogether! Right now, Tiana's Bayou is available as a selection when using a Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Multi Pass. And Guardian's is available as a Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Oooorrrr.... you can do both options - join the virtual queue AND purchase a Lightning Lane pass. Because Guardian's is 100% worth doing twice!
One last tip before I go. Did you know that during 2025 all Disney Resort guests receive
free admission to a Disney water park on their check-in day? If your plans allow for an early arrival, this is definitely worth checking out.
I hope this helps answer your question. Please
visit us again at planDisney if we can help with any other pixie-dusted advice!
See ya' real soon,
