Bright suns, K, and welcome to a galaxy not so far away: planDisney! I'm happy you brought this question to us because I'm sure many guests feel like you do about the Star Wars universe. The Imagineers who helped create the
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser adventure certainly knew that Star Wars fans would enjoy all it has to offer. Still, they kept in mind that some guests wouldn't necessarily have a strong background in the Force. So, without getting into spoiler territory, I'd like to show you that this IS the voyage you're looking for! And since you aren't a fan of the franchise, you will have to take my word that all my Star Wars quotes and references are brilliant!
First, the Galactic Starcruiser at
Walt Disney World Resort has been described as live, immersive theater. Sure, there's plenty of delicious food and out-of-this-galaxy entertainment. And the theming throughout the Starcruiser is jaw-dropping. But it mainly offers guests the chance to choose the path their experience will take through role-playing and storytelling. And here's the best part of all, K. The characters and stories aboard the ship are all brand new. So it won't matter if you haven't seen a single Star Wars film. Instead, you'll be meeting characters created exclusively for this experience. All you need is an adventurous spirit and the dedication to complete your mission.
Passengers will be transported to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, but there are no actual roller coasters there.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a thrill ride, but it's mostly on one level, and riding any of the attractions is optional. I love meandering through this land and sampling the snacks and drinks unique to Batuu. You may see some familiar Star Wars characters there, but you don't need to know their names or backstories to enjoy interacting with them, K.
Most guests dress the part to some extent during their voyage, so one way you can prepare is to find a few outfits and accessories to help you get into the theme. Neutral colors and fun hairstyles are all you'll need, although you'll see some guests in full spaceship regalia.
I recommend you embrace the experience, get involved, dress the part, and have fun! No need to watch all the films or study any terminology. And who knows? You might come away a Star Wars convert! But will you choose the dark side? Time will tell...
I hope you book a passage on the Galactic Starcruiser, K, and I'd love to hear how it goes. Please feel free to
stop by planDisney anytime. And may the Force be with you!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
