We are going the end of August for a week in the Coronado, are we going to bake, broil or fry? We,ve been in Nov., really crowded over T-Day, are we going at a good time? And anything to say about the Coronado resort?

    Hi, Mark, Leila and Leah!

Of course you won't bake, broil, or fry at Walt Disney World at the end of August!  I always think of it more like steaming!

I won't kid you, it's going to be hot.  You'll probably encounter afternoon showers which are really typically very quick, and in a lot of cases, you'll miss them entirely while visiting an attraction.  These are not showers that cool things off, like we expect in other parts of the country.  They really only add to steam things up.

You can combat the heat, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the crowd level that time of year.  Many southern schools and colleges are back in session by the end of August, and it's usually a very low crowd time.  You might also be able to take advantage of the free dining promotion that runs from the end of August through September.  What a great way to save money while on vacation!

I absolutely love the Coronado Springs Resort.  Sprawling and beautifully landscaped, this is really a resort that makes you feel like you're on vacation.  I always enjoy walking around the resort, and have found great quick meal options at the Pepper Market.  My kids love the pool area at the Coronado, and I can think of a few Moms Panel friends who would gladly join me for a few cocktails at Rix Lounge.  The only negative for some people is the sheer size of the resort, because it is spread out, but I actually like that about this resort.

I hope this helps you plan for your upcoming vacation!
