Hi there, Caitlin! Thank you for taking the time to send in a question to planDisney. We genuinely value guests like you and appreciate your patience.
First of all, thank you for being a
Magic Key holder. Disneyland Resort has a loyal fan base, making the parks even more special. In order to keep the Magic Key program a good experience for members, the sale of passes has been put on hold again, leaving parents of Mouseketeers turning 3 in a bit of a conundrum. I'm glad you're being proactive, and I'm happy to help!
The best place to start is by contacting
Magic Key Membership Services at (714) 781-7277, open seven days a week from 7 am to 9 pm (Pacific time). The information we are getting about this situation is evolving, and these Cast Members can give you the most up-to-date guidance on buying a Magic Key for your son. They will likely advise you to complete the transaction in person at a Disneyland Ticket Booth and to bring along documentation of your son's birthdate. Since you won't be able to make
Park Reservations for him until after the purchase, I recommend looking at the
Enchant Magic Key Theme Park Calendar beforehand to ensure there is availability on the day you plan to visit.
To celebrate your son's belated birthday, make a reservation online to dine at the
Magic Key Terrace. He'll love sipping on a glass of Heimlich Chew Chew Juice (named after the infamously hungry caterpillar in It's a Bug's Life, which was my son's favorite movie when he was 3)!
I'm sending you some pixie dust, so it all works out, Caitlin! If you have any other questions, remember that the planDisney Panel is all ears!
