Hello! We are embarking on a Disney adventure later this month. I read it was great to get dropped off at the Contemporary and walk to the Magic Kingdom. Is it possible to do that or do you have to be a guest to be dropped off at the Contemporary? Thanks!

Hi, Marie! There is nothing like embarking on a Disney adventure - and I'm so glad you made us part of your planning process.

Disney's Contemporary Resort is truly something wonderful to behold. I love watching the monorail go in and out of the iconic A-frame building, or standing on the observation deck to enjoy the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.

Conveniently located just a short walk to the entrance to the Magic Kingdom Park, you can indeed be dropped off at the resort to enjoy the stroll to the park. I have many times taken transportation over to the resort to grab my morning coffee at Contemporary Grounds, the counter located just inside the resort, and then taken the walk over to the Magic Kingdom while I jumpstart my day.

Parking at the Contemporary is for guests of the resort only. If you have a dining reservation at one of the restaurants inside the resort, you can get a temporary pass to park that limits you to three hours.

By the way, if you're looking for some breakfast before you head out to a full theme park day, The Wave...of American Flavors located inside the Contemporary Resort has my favorite buffet breakfast anywhere at Walt Disney World. There aren't any characters, but the food is outstanding, and the sweet potato pancakes with pecan honey butter are one of my favorite foods on the planet!

Enjoy the most magical vacation, Marie, and thank you so much for the question.
