Can I see Electric Water Pagent from the campgrounds? Which pool at the campgrounds was upgraded with a waterslide? Where should I request being placed to be closest to the waterslide/chip n dale/beach? Thanks.

    Hi Dawn,

We just enjoyed two wonderful stays at Fort Wilderness within the last few months. The campgrounds has so many amenities to offer that you almost (and I said almost) don't want to head to the parks.

Yes you can enjoy the Electric Water Parade from the beach at Fort Wilderness as we did so on our very last trip. The Meadow Recreation Area, including the Meadow Swimming Pool was just recently remodeled and now includes a great water slide as well as a fun interactive splash zone for younger kids. Chip and Dale's Campfire is held not to far from the main pool area and it easily accessible by the Fort Wilderness internal buses labeled Orange.

You did not mention if you were camping or staying in one of the cabins. The sites closest to the Meadow Pool and Chip and Dale campfire are for campsites. If you are a camper, you could request Loop 1300 or 1400 which are the closest. If you are like me, and a tent or RV is not your thing, you are most likely bunking down in one of the very homey cabins.

The cabins are located to the left side of the resort area, while the Meadow Rec area is in the middle. There are no cabin loops directly by this main rec area however Loops 2500, 2600 and 2700 are near the quiet pool and are near the front of the resort. You can rent golf carts for approximately $54 a day or bring your own cart or bike to move around the property. We found the internal bus very easy to use and it ran quite regularly. I think if you are in the cabins, you will find it quite easy to get over to the Meadow Recreation area for a swim or a late night movie.

Hope you have a great time!
