Our eldest is 12, can she order from the kids menu in table service locations? I appreciate that there's a difference in price so am happy to pay the adult price, but she'd definitely prefer the choices on the kids menu!

Hello Martin! Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney!

It seems like fate that I should be the one answering your question, as I'm also from Cheshire! However, my Cheshire is in Massachusetts, a far cry from yours! I'm excited to help you find some answers and some great menu options for your 12-year-old!

12-year-old girls are something, aren't they? My oldest daughter is turning 12 next month and she is lovely and certainly strong-willed! She loves Walt Disney World Resort and cannot wait until our next trip.  I bet your daughter is just as excited!

The best part about vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort is that you really do feel that each and every Cast Member is there to help you have a magical time.  Whether you're snacking, riding, or taking a dip in the pool, interactions with Cast Members always make you feel like you're one in a million.  The same goes for the wonderful Cast Members at Walt Disney World dining locations.  They will do their best to accommodate you, your children, and their wants and needs.

I'm happy to say that when you dine at Table Service locations your 12-year-old will still be able to choose an option from the Kids' Menu, though there may be an upcharge, just as you mentioned.  If you and your family are lucky enough to dine in Cinderella Castle at Cinderella's Royal Table, your daughter is welcome to pass on the Chickpea Panisse in favor of the Chicken Nuggets.  If you're planning on a Family-Style or Buffet-Style meal, such as Chef Mickey's or Hollywood & Vine, your daughter is welcome to choose any variety of foods that she likes but she will be charged the adult price for the meal because she is over 10 years of age.

Don't forget to start booking your Advance Dining Reservations up to 60 days before your trip so that you're able to see and taste all the delicious offerings that Walt Disney World Resort provides.  With so many options to choose from, your daughter may come home enjoying something she's never had before!

The best part is, if all else fails, there's always a Mickey Premium Bar right around the corner, and even my pickiest eaters can't say no to that!  Enjoy your wonderful trip!

As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
