Hello Amy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am so excited that you will be exploring the untamed wilderness of Alaska this summer. Of course the best way to see these beautiful ports is with Captain Mickey! As a warrior of the north, when my kids suggested Alaska for our cruise last summer, I was skeptical. I am so glad we experienced this together as it was a unique and exciting vacation.
After speaking with my fellow Disney Cruise Line expert on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Stephanie, our recommendation is to take a direct flight to Vancouver. Stephanie is also from Texas and has traveled to Vancouver with her little ones and found this to be the least stressful way to travel north. Driving or taking the train from Seattle can be more time consuming and crossing the boarder can be overwhelming.
I always recommend arriving in your embarkation port city the day or evening before your sail date. This will make your trip less stressful in the event your travel is delayed before your cruise. There are many hotels in Vancouver that are within walking distance to the cruise terminal. If you need help with
ground transportation or a hotel in Vancouver, you can "Let it Go" and contact Disney Cruise Line for further assistance with planning your pre-cruise stay.
When you arrive and step onboard the Disney Wonder, be sure to check your Personal Navigator newsletter or Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to check the showtimes for
Frozen: A Musical Spectacular. This Broadway caliber show it a must-see and has all our favorite songs and our favorite snowman!
Enjoy making magical memories! Bon voyage! Angie
