Hi there, Amy!
How exciting that you'll be in the middle of the magic in just a few short days! I'm so glad that you stopped by planDisney for assistance as you finalize your plans.
Disney's Contemporary Resort has recently become one of my favorite Disney Resorts Collection hotels. The in-room theming is simply
Incredible, the unparalleled location results in amazing views, and the dining options are delicious! Currently, the Contemporary is home to three lounges:
Outer Rim,
Steakhouse 71 Lounge, and
California Grill Lounge each located on a different floor of the resort hotel. Because these lounges do not require advance dining reservations, you'll need to inquire about available seating or join a walk-up list upon arrival. Of the three, I've personally only experienced a wait for California Grill's bar seating, but of course, the view is worth the wait!
Because parking at Disney's Contemporary Resort is reserved for Guests with confirmed room and dining reservations, the opportunity to park your car to dine without a confirmed reservation is not guaranteed and would be permitted at individual Cast Member discretion. Of course, it never hurts to ask, so I suggest explaining your circumstances to the Cast Member at the Contemporary's entrance upon arrival, but please keep in mind that the answer will likely depend upon the time of day and the number of available spaces in the lot at that time. If you are unable to park at the Contemporary, all hope is not lost, Amy! You are more than welcome to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and enjoy a ride on the
Resort Monorail Loop to Disney's Contemporary Resort.
planDisney pixie dust: Did you know the Guests who dine at California Grill are able to return to the restaurant for same-day fireworks viewing by presenting their receipt to the Cast Member at the host table?
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
