Aloha, Angela! Thanks so much for sending your question to planDisney. I’m thrilled you asked about
Wailulu Bar & Grill because I was just there recently, and oh my goodness... I absolutely loved it!
Wailulu Bar & Grill gets its name from the Hawaiian words wai (water) and lulu (calm), and it truly lives up to that name with its gorgeous views of the Seven Seas Lagoon. When I visited a couple of weeks ago, we were staying right at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, so we simply joined the
Walk-Up Waitlist through the
My Disney Experience app and strolled over from our room.
For Guests driving themselves, parking has definitely become more strict over the years. Usually, resorts only allow you through the gate with a confirmed dining reservation, so no walk-ups, mobile orders, or “just browsing” visits. But when I checked with a Cast Member this morning, she shared that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort does currently allow parking for guests without a dining reservation after 2:00 PM. As always, this is subject to change at any time, so I recommend having a backup plan just in case.
Since Wailulu opened in December 2024, it has operated as a walk-up–only location. But that’s about to change! According to the Walt Disney World website, advance dining reservations will open on December 3, 2025, with the earliest booking date available beginning December 4, 2025. Once reservations become available, walk-up seating may be more limited, so since you’re visiting next month, I’d definitely try to snag a reservation when they open (and remember, booking typically begins at 6:00 AM EST).
And if you go, bring your appetite! When my family of four visited, we shared the Ahi Tuna Crisps, the Teriyaki Chicken Sliders, and the Wayfinder Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. Everything was delicious. There’s indoor and outdoor seating; we chose to sit outside, but it did get a little chilly in the evening even with heat lamps, so pack a sweatshirt just in case.
I hope this helps, Angela!
See ya real soon,
Eean
