I only eat small meals, so as an adult am I allowed to order food from the children's menu at any or all of the restaurants at wdw. Thanks

Hi, Hilary!  I had gastric bypass surgery several years back, and as a result, in the visits I made to Walt Disney World not long after surgery, I was only able to eat small portions.  At quick service locations, it was never an issue to order a children's meal, and I did so occasionally for the smaller portion sizes.

Table service restaurants can vary with their flexibility.  I will say that I never had an issue asking for a children's meal, especially after explaining my surgery and my food limitations.  I do know of guests who were told they could not accommodate an adult with a children's meal. At buffet meals, they typically do not allow an adult to pay the children's price, and I've had friends tell me that they were ultimately permitted to order from the children's menu at some signature restaurants, but the restaurants did not seem as willing to allow them to do so without a bit of a discussion.

In any case, you are more than welcome to go to any restaurant and order from only the appetizer menu.  I often find that when compared to a children's menu, I sometimes prefer the appetizers, or a soup and salad, over the offerings on the kids side of the menu.

Have a wonderful time on your upcoming visit!
