Shannon,
What a FANTASTIC question!
For me, the holidays evoke a certain kind of atmosphere. I get this New England, cozy gathering experience. The food for me is very much along the lines of roasted meats, lots of sides to share, and a family-around-the-table ambiance.
Based on that, there is one choice that is heads above the rest in the
Magic Kingdom for a Christmas Dinner, and that is the
Liberty Tree Tavern. The menu has that Thanksgiving meal type feel to it, and the revolutionary-era New England tavern decor certainly carries you further into that world.
While this would be my first choice, I do always like to offer some alternatives. If you are just looking to do a counter service meal, then I would suggest the
Columbia Harbour House. Situated right next to the Liberty Tree Tavern, you get that same general theme to the decor, and I think this is one of the most underrated counter service restaurants at Walt Disney World. There is some great variety to the menu, and while it is not what I would select for a Christmas Dinner, the Lighthouse Sandwich there is one of my lunch favorites.
The table service alternative would be to go to the
Be Our Guest Restaurant. The castle setting has a great mood to it, and the food can feel a bit more elevated than the Liberty Tree Tavern.
One final thought. I would still stick to these recommendations, but be aware that many of the restaurants will offer up menus for Christmas dinner that are more traditional. The best way to know about these is to regularly visit the
Disney Parks Blog. But no matter how you go, it is going to be a festive time!
Have a Magical (and delicious) Vacation!
