Is there an easy way to know vegetarian options at the restaurants?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Denise!

Trust me: as a vegetarian you will NOT go hungry at Walt Disney World Resort! I’m a vegan and my husband and daughter are vegetarians, and one of the reasons Walt Disney World Resort is our favorite family vacation destination is because of the unbelievable plant-based food options available there.

While many of the menus (published on the Walt Disney World Resort website as well as the My Disney Experience mobile app) specifically list vegetarian/ plant-based options, there are some restaurants that have “secret” vegan and vegetarian menus. Three of my favorites are California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Narcoossee’s and Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. You’ll also find special vegan and vegetarian options at Trail’s End Restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Just tell your server that you'd like to know about the vegetarian options!

You definitely won’t go hungry inside the Theme Parks either. Just about every table service restaurant will cater to vegans and vegetarians (even if there isn’t something specific listed on the menu, just ask to speak to a chef), and you’ll find more and more plant-based options at Quick Service dining locations, too. Magic Kingdom Park even has a special plant-based dining brochure available in each of its restaurants and at the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street, U.S.A.! Epcot has amazing options throughout the World Showcase. You can get vegetarian chili, vegan grilled cheese sandwiches and vegan polenta at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (plus Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will have a handful of delicious choices including both the Blue Milk AND the Green Milk (both non-dairy, coconut-based)). Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park has excellent plant-based offerings throughout the Park, too. Even the Water Parks have phenomenal plant-based items on their quick-service menus!

If there’s something in particular you’re craving, please come back and let me know; I’d be happy to help you find it at Walt Disney World Resort. They don’t call it The Most Magical Place on Earth for nothing!

We hope to see you real soon,
    Amy
