What is the easiest way to get around Disney with an adult in a wheelchair?

    Hi Mindy,

I am going to answer your question like you are talking about transportation at the Walt Disney World Resorts. With in each of the parks, it is easy to navigate the parks as well as most queues. If your touring partner needs to transfer out of a wheelchair prior to entering a ride, the cast member at the entrance of the queue will let you know this.

As for getting to and from your Walt Disney World Resort and the parks or other entertainment area, you always have the option of the Disney transportation systems. If you are going to tour all four parks, there is no way to avoid a bus however you can reduce the number of times on a bus by staying at a monorail resort or the deluxe resorts at Epcot which use a boat to two parks. This is a consideration when choosing a resort. As for the buses, more buses are equipped to handle a wheel chair or ECV. You may need to wait if more than one guest needs this option.

As for driving to the parks, you would still need to walk from the parking lot or ride a tram to the park entrance. Magic Kingdom adds additional complexity by having you enter the park via the monorail or paddleboat from their parking lot.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
