Ahoy there, Lindsay!
Welcome to planDisney! Oh goodness. I'm sad we are already thinking about the end of your vacation, but for the sake of planning, let's dive in!
On debarkation day,
Disney Cruise Line recommends 11:00 a.m. as the earliest departure time from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Typically, Guests can disembark the ship beginning at 8:00 a.m., once local authorities clear the ship. Travel time from Port Everglades to the airport is about 15 minutes depending on traffic. So, if you hop off the ship when the debarkation announcement is made and all goes well between the port and the airport, you
could be fine with a 10:40 a.m. flight, but it is not recommended.
To enable you to jump ship as soon as possible, you must take advantage of Express Walk-Off. This means you will take your luggage off the ship rather than leave it out in the evening before for Crew Members to deliver it to the port terminal. Remember, you will have to clear US Customs before leaving the terminal, so make sure that you are within your Customs allowance. If you booked Disney Ground Transportation, check your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for instructions before leaving the ship. And one final thought, a quick breakfast is usually served in
Cabanas beginning at 6:30 on debarkation day, so if you can't live without that early morning coffee or need a quick meal, you have that option.
Lindsay, I hope this information helps you get ship-shape for your vacation. Sail by any time with other questions!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
