    How early do we need to be at Hollywood Studios to get a boarding pass to Rise of the Resistance?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sheryl!

    Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is the most popular attraction at Walt Disney World Resort right now, and with good reason!  This experience is unlike anything I have seen before.  I understand that you want to be sure to get your chance to join the Resistance.  Currently, access to the attraction is through a virtual queue.  Guests will need to join a Boarding Group through the My Disney Experience mobile app, and will receive a notification when their Boarding Group is called to experience the attraction.  The Boarding Group process begins at the scheduled park opening time, as explained in this Disney Parks Blog article.

    Last week on the day I was visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios, the park was scheduled to open at 7:00 am.  I caught a bus from my Disney Resort Hotel at 6:00 am, and was through security screening and waiting to enter the park by 6:25.  The tapstyles opened at around 6:35, and my husband and I were in the park by 6:40.  Guests are held in the Hollywood Boulevard or Sunset Boulevard areas until scheduled park opening time.  At precisely 7:00 am, we were able to select the "Join Boarding Group" button on the home page of the My Disney Experience mobile app.

    All Guests who have entered Disney's Hollywood Studios prior to the scheduled park opening time will have an equal chance of securing a Boarding Group.  Boarding Groups fill quickly, and Guests who arrive after the scheduled park opening time may find that all Boarding Groups have already been distributed for the day.  I recommend double-checking park hours for the day you plan to visit; recently I have noticed some changes to the operating schedule and wouldn't be surprised to see additional adjustments.
