Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sarah!
Your first trip? How exciting!!
I'm sure you can't wait for your family to experience all the magic of Walt Disney World Resort!
It sounds like you will have a vehicle during your stay at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. You will find driving around Walt Disney World Resort is quite easy, with plenty of signs directing you where to go. While I might be inclined to drive to most destinations within Walt Disney World Resort, getting to Magic Kingdom Park by car is a bit of a process. Once parked, guests board a tram to the Transportation and Ticket Center, where they then board either the
monorail or
ferry to reach the gates of
Magic Kingdom Park on the other side of Seven Seas Lagoon. It is hard for me to not recommend arriving this way for your first visit, as the views from either the monorail or ferry are quite beautiful and really build excitement and anticipation as Magic Kingdom Park comes into view, giving a very magical start to your day. However,
complimentary bus transportation from Disney's All-Star Movies Resort will be a little more efficient, as the bus will drop you off at the front gates of Magic Kingdom Park.
I tend to be an early bird when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. I love the feeling of being among the first Guests to enter the park and the relative quiet of the early morning hours, so my estimates will be on the conservative side. If driving, I would plan to depart your Resort Hotel about an hour and fifteen minutes prior to park open. If taking the bus, plan to be at the bus stop about an hour ahead of time.
For the most efficient door-to-door transportation, consider
Disney's Minnie Van Service. Minnie Vans can be requested and paid for through the Lyft app, and are driven by friendly and knowledgeable Disney Cast Members. Minnie Vans can accommodate up to 6 Guests, and come equipped with 2 child safety seats.
Sarah, I am wishing your family the most magical visit! Please stop by the Moms Panel again with any additional questions you may have. We are always happy to help!
