Hi Erica, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! Lucky you, you’ve got an upcoming Disney Vacation Club Resort stay at the
Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Our family had a great stay there and can’t wait to go back! Now, let’s talk through using transportation at this DVC Resort.
The
boats, like all modes of transportation from the Resort hotels to the theme parks, generally start around 45 minutes before
Early Theme Park Entry starts. However, operating times and status of the boats are dependent on factors such as the weather. While I haven’t personally experienced this, I have heard from friends that the boats may be halted in the morning when it’s really foggy. As for the internal buses, I just spoke to a Cast Member, who let me know those buses start at 7:00 AM. These typically start earlier to bring guests to the boat launch and theme park buses.
Here’s a bonus tip! Erica, if you are able to, I would highly recommend
renting a golf cart during your stay! There are areas to park your golf cart by the boat launch. Better yet, you won’t have to rely on the internal buses, which will stop at every internal bus stop on the way to boat launch. That can save you some of those precious Early Entry minutes!
I hope this information is helpful as you plan your upcoming Cabin stay. While you’re there, you should check out
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, one of the best dining experiences across all of Walt Disney World! If you have any further questions, feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
