How early should you book travel/dining reservations for Thanksgiving?

    Crystal,

Thanksgiving is a VERY busy time of year at Walt Disney World! If you are thinking of a trip in 2009, I suggest you make your reservations as soon as possible! If you are thinking 2010, I would still want to reserve the hotel room more than a year ahead of time, to ensure you get the resort of your choice.

As for dining, you will not be able to make any Advance Dining Reservations until 90 days before the date you want to dine, so I would mark the day in late August when you can make those reservations and be prepared to call that line right at 7 am (eastern time zone) when they open!

Since it is a busy time there will be a lot of other people calling. So make sure you have planned out where you want to eat and when. Also have some alternate locations planned out for each meal, just in case they are already booked up for your primary choice.

This may all sound dire, but remember that Thanksgiving is a busy time of year because it is such a great time to visit Walt Disney World! You may not get every meal you dream of at exactly the right time, but the overall experience will still be wonderful!

    Have a magical vacation!
