Hi Cathy! I like to avoid crowds and lines as much as possible in the parks, and I've found that one way to do that is to arrive early. Ideally, I try to be at the park at least 15 to 30 minutes before the stated opening time so that I'll have time to pass through the security checkpoint and ticket turnstiles and be ready to enter the park when it opens. A good rule of thumb if you want to arrive early is to be at your resort bus stop one hour before the scheduled park opening time.

Travel times to the parks from the Port Orleans French Quarter resort range from 20 to 30 minutes. The website www.ourlaughingplace.com has a handy Transportation Wizard that computes travel times from all of the Walt Disney World resorts and parks using bus, boat, and monorail transportation methods. (You'll find it in the "Planning Tools" section of the website.)
