What is the earliest time we can park at the Magic Kingdom parking lot and get a ferry or monorail to the Magic Kingdom gates. We are early risers and like to be the first in line at the parks to maximize our day. Thanks!

    Hi Sean,

I like your style! I'm an early riser and like to get to the parks for "rope drop" too.

The answer to your question depends on what time the park opens. Depending on the time of year, and whether there are morning Extra Magic Hours, I've seen the Magic Kingdom open as early as 7:00 a.m. or as late as 9:00 a.m. In my experience, the Magic Kingdom parking lot is open at least an hour and a half before the park opens, and the monorail is always running by 6:30 a.m. to accommodate guests with early character breakfasts at the Contemporary. If the park is open super early, then the monorail will be open super early too. The best thing to do would be to speak to the concierge at your hotel when you arrive. They can tell you the timetable for your specific visit dates.

The only park where I've ever heard of issues for early arrivers is the Animal Kingdom. This parking lot typically opens only about 20-30 minutes before the first activity in the park. For example, about a year ago I was booked on the first outing of the Wild Africa Trek, at 8:00 a.m.  We arrived at the parking gate at 7:20, and then had to wait for 20 minutes in the car before we were allowed into the lot.  Again, check with your concierge for details about timing for your visit.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
